Realizing you need professional support for a substance use disorder takes courage. But when you take that first step toward recovery, it can truly change your life.

Located in Austin, Texas, Cross Creek Hospital provides an intensive outpatient program (IOP) for adults who are struggling with substance use disorders and co-occurring behavioral health concerns. Our highly experienced team is committed to helping you find the path to recovery that’s right for you.

Our Adult IOP

At Cross Creek Hospital, we offer an intensive outpatient program for adults age 18 and older who are struggling with substance use disorders and co-occurring behavioral health concerns. This level of care is usually best for people who don’t need the round-the-clock support found in residential programming. However, they can still benefit from outpatient care that is more structured than what’s offered through traditional outpatient therapy.

IOP participants typically take part in programming at our hospital in Austin, Texas, for three hours a day, three days a week. However, you also have the option to stay and participate in our partial hospitalization program (PHP), which meets for another two hours. Most people participate in our IOP for about four to eight weeks, but this can vary based on your individual progress.

Getting the right level of care is often essential to your success. The expert team at Cross Creek Hospital will complete a comprehensive evaluation to determine whether our IOP is the right fit for your needs. However, if we believe another facility or program would be the better choice, we will make an appropriate referral.

Therapies & Services

The caring and compassionate team at Cross Creek Hospital is committed to helping each of our patients find the path to healing that promotes the very best outcomes. As part of those efforts, we individualize each person’s care to reflect their unique needs.

We primarily use group therapy to help our patients work toward healing from substance use disorders and co-occurring behavioral health concerns. Master’s-level therapists lead several different types of groups each day, including process, psychoeducational, nursing education, and recreational therapy groups.

These highly experienced professionals tailor group discussion topics based on your therapeutic goals, so you might talk about things like building healthy coping skills, relapse prevention, or different behavioral health or substance use disorders. We also offer individual and family therapies for IOP participants on a case-by-case basis.

Your care team may also use different therapies depending on your specific situation. These might include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, gestalt therapy, and solutions-focused therapy.

Continuing Care

During the time you spend at our hospital in Austin, Texas, you can do powerful work that has a positive impact on your overall quality of life. We want that positive momentum to continue after you’ve left our hospital, so we will work with you to put together a personalized continuing care plan before you transition out of our care.

Your continuing care plan will document our recommendations for ongoing support, which might involve stepping up to a higher level of care or a referral for traditional outpatient therapy. Your continuing care plan may also identify community resources, support groups, and key members of your support network.

Don’t let a substance use disorder or co-occurring behavioral health condition keep you from living a full, productive life. Let the multidisciplinary team of experts at Cross Creek Hospital help you get on the road to long-lasting recovery.
