Cross Creek Hospital specializes in treating adolescents, adults, and older adults who are suffering from acute mental health concerns. Our Austin, Texas, facility offers a compassionate and caring environment where individuals can begin to heal from a variety of mental, emotional, and behavioral health concerns and improve their overall well-being.
Program Overview
Our adolescent intensive outpatient program (IOP) provides young people ages 12-17 with personalized care and targeted attention to address acute mental health concerns such as depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, and schizophrenia. Our adolescent IOP also offers care for youths who present with concerns related to a secondary diagnosis of addiction.
The skilled multidisciplinary team at Cross Creek Hospital consists of nurse practitioners, psychiatrists, medical doctors, psychiatric nurse practitioners, creative arts/recreational therapists, and licensed clinical therapists.
Our solution-focused and trauma-informed treatment modalities, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), can help your child gain a new perspective on their emotional and mental well-being.
What Is an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)?
An intensive outpatient program (IOP) allows individuals to participate in several hours of mental health and addiction treatment for three to four days each week. This program is a good option for individuals who can benefit from structured and comprehensive care while still living at home.
IOP typically provides individuals with group therapy opportunities, but this level of care may also offer individual therapy sessions. Each person participates in various treatment modalities based on their present needs, the results of their initial assessment, and their overall progress.
While this level of care allows individuals to step down from an inpatient or residential program, this is not a requirement for someone to participate in IOP. Each person takes part in collaborative assessments at the beginning of their stay to determine the services that will best address their unique needs.
What We Offer
At Cross Creek Hospital, we provide adolescents ages 12-17 with mental health and addiction care through our intensive outpatient program (IOP). We offer treatment for a range of behavioral health concerns, including:
- Anxiety disorders
- Bipolar disorder
- Depression
- Schizophrenia
- Trauma-related conditions
- Secondary alcohol use disorder
- Secondary opioid use disorder
Licensed mental health professionals who specialize in adolescent care lead group therapy sessions three days each week. Group topics teach adolescents about safety, interpersonal relationships, protective factors, goal setting, communication techniques, coping skills, self-esteem, positive self-talk, and more. The treatment methods we use to assist adolescents are evidence-based and have proved effective at addressing the symptoms of mental health concerns and addiction.
We are dedicated to providing age-appropriate care for each adolescent and their present needs. Our team understands that all young people present differently, regardless of the symptoms and behaviors they display, so we focus on connecting each adolescent with comprehensive care to address specific concerns. Adolescents who may need more personalized attention can benefit from individual therapy sessions three days per week.
