What We Offer

Therapies and treatment modalites offered in our inpatient mental health program

Each program at Cross Creek Hospital utilizes a multidisciplinary treatment focus in order to ensure an integrated approach to treatment that facilitates increased stabilization and growth. Furthermore, treatment is individualized and holistic in nature, allowing for maximized patient care. At our Austin-based treatment center, we utilize three main treatment modalities in our inpatient program, including cognitive behavioral therapy, didactic therapy, and multiple experiential therapies. Cognitive behavioral therapy allows our patients at our treatment center to identify conflicts within their thinking and learn to correct any cognitive distortions. Didactic therapies, on the other hand, emphasize the importance of education about the effects of trauma and the presence of co-occurring disorders.

Finally, experiential modalities, such as art therapy or yoga groups, help our patients at our treatment center develop a sense of self-awareness and trauma-processing on a visceral level with an emphasis on affect regulation. These experiential treatment programs use psychodrama and recreational techniques to teach skills for appropriate risk-taking, internal communication, and the healthy expression of needs and fears to others.

In addition to these treatment modalities, the following treatment methods are often part of a patient’s treatment program during his or her inpatient stay at Cross Creek Hospital:

  • Individual therapy
  • Group therapy
  • Family therapy
  • Medication management
