Shamima Khan, MD
Dr. Khan works at Cross Creek Hospital in Austin, TX. She achieved her medical degree from Dhaka Medical College, a renowned Medical School in Bangladesh. She completed her Internship training in General Psychiatry and Primary care at the University Of Kansas Medical Center. She then joined the Austin Medical Education Programs Department of Psychiatry to complete her General Psychiatry residency training and Fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry.
Dr. Khan is board certified in General Psychiatry and in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Khan is specialized in treating individuals with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, disorders of thought process, substance abuse disorders, PTSD, personality disorders and eating disorders. She is trained to treat children with verities of emotional, learning, behavioral difficulties and developmental disabilities. Prior to joining Cross Creek Hospital, Dr. Khan worked at Riverside University Health System, Behavioral Health in California and provided evidence-based psychiatric care to residents of the Riverside County with significant mental health challenges. She also worked at Fort Hood Army Medical Center for almost 8 years and provided comprehensive mental health care to active duty service members.
